Position Summary:
LEE is seeking a strategic campaign professional to serve as the Senior Director, Campaign Supports & Resources. This role will co-lead LEE’s national strategy to support hundreds of members in running for and winning elected office across the country. The Senior Director will oversee a team of campaign specialists and collaborate across the organization to deliver innovative, tech-enabled tools that help candidates lead successful, values-driven campaigns. The Senior Director will ensure every candidate has access to high-quality, tailored support which includes digital strategy, data insights, communications, and fundraising.
The Senior Director will lead and manage a mission-aligned team, develop multi-year strategies, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration to scale LEE’s campaign support platform. This role will also partner with senior leaders and internal teams to optimize data systems, track progress, and ensure every candidate interaction reflects LEE’s commitment to leadership development, learning, and member impact. The ideal candidate for this role is an entrepreneurial high-impact leader who thrives at the intersection of campaign supports, innovation, and people/resource management. The Senior Director reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Member Impact.
Position Location: Flexible
Travel Requirements: 30% - site visits, team engagements; travel will fluctuate based on election support cycles, and will depend on geographic distribution of candidates in the portfolio
Responsibilities:
Elected Leadership Team Leadership & Management (40%)
Maximize team impact by equipping direct reports with the tools and resources to enhance campaign effectiveness
Cultivate a team culture that is flexible, outcomes- oriented, and aligned with LEE’s overall culture
Ensure every LEE candidate has equitable access to high-quality, tailored campaign support; offering a mix of universal resources and tiered supports
Build data and process systems to track work, manage resources, evaluate success, and report on team performance
Elected Leadership Strategy (30%)
Co-lead a national innovative, tech-enabled strategy alongside the SVP and Senior Directors to scale LEE’s campaign support, integrating partnerships, candidate development, and election-focused resources
Lead a team of campaign specialists, and manage key vendor contracts to build scalable tools for members that support their fundraising, communications, digital strategy, and data
Execute a multi-year plan that integrates campaign strategy, coaching, training, and third-party content into a dynamic platform of customizable tools that drive member success and a win rate of 50% or higher
Pilot and expand first- and third-party political resources for LEE candidates
Closely coordinate program goals, execution, and all supports for LEE member candidates with Elected Leadership Senior Directors to ensure a synchronized program offering comprehensive campaign supports
Org-Wide Leadership (20%)
Partner and collaborate across matrixed teams to set goals, optimize data systems, allocate and maximize resources, track performance metrics (e.g., win rates, cost efficiency), and share member success stories
Collaborate across teams to scale and enhance campaign supports, including digital learning tools, virtual programming, and immersive fellowships
Lead alongside Member Team Senior Directors to create, facilitate, and strengthen a unified, collaborative Member Team
Align with the Executive Director, President, and Senior Vice President on candidate fundraising, compliance, and strategic partnerships to advance candidate success
Special Projects (10%)
Lead or contribute to team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects to accelerate impact as assigned by manager or designee
Provide short-term coverage during a leave, vacancy, or PTO
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree, an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)
7+ years of relevant professional experience in campaign/political strategy and/or civic technology
Minimum of 4 cycles in professional political campaigns leadership (including as an elected leader, candidate, and issue campaign staff)
4+ years of demonstrated experience managing staff, campaign volunteers, and/or third-party vendors towards ambitious outcomes
Familiarity with accounting for time across 501c3, 501c4, PACs, and an understanding of campaign finance law and regulation
Demonstrated strong orientation towards data-informed evaluation, strategy, and recommendations
Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with a strong outcomes orientation
Excels at building relationships and networks; influences others to achieve results
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE’s mission, core values, and theory of change
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading and managing a geographically dispersed and/or start-up team
Demonstrated experience leading growth and scale of programs in a start-up environment
Familiarity with leveraging AI technologies
Masters in Business Administration
Physical Requirements & Work Demands:
This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies.
The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities.
Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Benefits and Pay
The position level for this role is Senior Director 1 and the corresponding pay range for this position is $112,400-$174,600. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
