Position Summary:
As the leader of this team, the Vice President, Member Marketing will drive the marketing vision, strategy, and execution to grow the brand awareness and identity with new and existing members, grow the engagement of LEE members, and connect members to the resources or opportunities available to them with LEE. The VP will partner closely with the Member Impact, Platform, and Partnerships teams to strengthen LEE’s ability to reach members, personalize content, and capture insights about marketing outcomes. They also will contribute marketing leadership toward the cross-matrix work of improving member data quality, evolving digital tracking of member journey, and optimizing LEE’s platform offerings.
The VP will report to the Senior Vice President, Member Impact and will serve on LEE’s Leadership Team. They will lead a small team of marketing staff and contractors including content creators and multi-channel marketers.
The ideal candidate will be a values-oriented executive with deep marketing knowledge, network, and strategy acumen who approaches their work with an unwavering commitment to LEE’s core values, and will collaborate across the organization for the success of LEE and our members. As a high visibility leader at LEE, the VP should have a deep personal and professional connection with LEE’s core values, and be able to inspire others around LEE’s mission.

Position Location: Flexible
Travel Requirements: 25% travel including team meetings, retreats, and member events
Responsibilities:
Member Marketing Strategy and Execution (40%)
Align senior leaders on a vision and strategy for engaging and sustaining more members via marketing and growing the top of the funnel including new innovative ways to reach members across multiple channels and outreach modalities
Set ambitious multi-year member marketing goals that increase member interactions and engagement across all channels including portal, email, social, and SMS
Execute impactfully against the vision and strategy to deliver measurable results in improving LEE’s ability to reach, engage, and move members along civic leadership pathways
Strengthen LEE’s member-facing brand awareness and grow visibility of our new visual identity across all channels
Integrate member outcomes and marketing performance data to evaluate effectiveness of outcomes and drive changes to marketing strategy
Build a social media strategy that is channel-specific, member-centered, and can be segmented by audience
Organizational Partnership (30%)
As part of the leadership team, collaborate with other LEE VPs to identify opportunities for improvements and innovations in engaging, inspiring, and supporting members
Collaborate with Member Impact and Partnerships teams to align marketing strategy with member registration, engagement, and programmatic goals
Contribute marketing leadership to improve member data quality, evolving digital tracking of member journey and optimizing user experience in LEE’s member portal
Cultivate a strong and ongoing partnership with the Platform team to ensure alignment between content and platform enablement
Collaborate with the Office of the President on Member Marketing’s unique contributions in supporting the achievement of external relations goals and outcomes
Team and Organizational Stewardship (20%)
Manage a team to deliver high impact results, in coordination with and leveraging all of LEE’s assets and teams
Develop and manage annual budget and strategic goals that are aligned with organizational goals and mission
Build an inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives, prioritizes learning, and inspires team members to produce high-quality outputs
Special Projects (10%)
Lead or contribute to team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects to accelerate impact
Provide short-term coverage during a leave, vacancy, or PTO
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)
Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience in multi-product digital marketing, platform marketing, and lead generation for engagement growth
Excellent managerial, interpersonal, and networking skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
Track record of using data, analytics, and engagement metrics to set, measure, and achieve ambitious goals
Demonstrated success in people leadership in a matrixed organization with an ability to manage in multiple functional areas and align messaging across channels in creative ways
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE’s mission, core values, and theory of change
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., MBA)
Experience leading teams and individuals in a geographically dispersed work environment
Experience integrating emerging technologies, such as AI tools or advanced marketing automation, to improve member or customer experiences
Physical Requirements & Work Demands:
This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies.
The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.
The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities.
Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Benefits and Pay
Compensation for the Vice President role starts at $165,350-$215,000. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
