Position Summary:
The Manager, Accounting (Full-time, Temporary) serves as the operational lead of LEE’s day-to-day financial transactions and accuracy across all entities, including 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PACs. This role owns the full-cycle transaction process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and grant accounting, ensuring that the building blocks of LEE’s financial data are precise, timely, and compliant with non-profit accounting standards. The Manager, in close partnership with the Director, Finance, maintains the integrity of the sub-ledgers and provides the essential documentation and analysis required for a seamless monthly close and annual audit.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting and bookkeeping non-profit professional who demonstrates deep ownership, accountability, and transparency regarding work priorities. They are an expert at navigating complex multi-entity environments and possess the judgment to improve financial processes while maintaining rigorous internal controls.
This is a full-time temporary role through July 2027, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time regular role based on individual performance and organizational strategy.

Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Disbursements (35%)
Process all vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and expenditures in Ramp across all entities with correct coding across multiple required dimensions
Prepare payment runs (e.g., ACH, wires, AP) and maintain vendor master files including W-9s and 1099s
Manage corporate card workflows, ensuring policy compliance and accurate coding
Revenue, Receivables & Grant Accounting (30%)
Record all incoming revenue (e.g., grants, donations, fees) and manage AR invoicing and collections in collaboration with relevant internal teams
Maintain grant tracking schedules for restrictions and reporting deadlines
Review revenue for accuracy/GAAP compliance and reconcile Sage Intacct to CRM records
General Accounting & Close Support (25%)
Reconcile AP/AR subledgers to the general ledger and prepare monthly accruals and prepaids, and other month-end close schedules as required
Maintain audit trails and provide documentation for external audit inquiries
Ensure compliance with campaign finance reporting requirements for PAC entities
Special Projects (10%)
Engage in team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by manager or designee
Provide short-term coverage of other finance team duties during a leave, vacancy, or PTO
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or combination of commensurate experience and training (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)
3+ years of professional work experience and at least 2+ years of relevant accounting experience (e.g., AR/AP, GL accounting, or full-charge bookkeeping)
Proficiency in Excel, including experience with reconciliation workflows
Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of transactions with accuracy and efficiency
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE’s mission, core values, and theory of change
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Sage Intacct
Experience with nonprofit accounting, ASC 958
Experience with Ramp or similar corporate card/expense management platforms
Familiarity with and excitement about AI-enabled finance tools and automation
Experience with campaign finance reporting or PAC accounting
Physical Requirements & Work Demands:
This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies.
The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.
Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Pay and Benefits
The position level for this role is Manager 1 and the corresponding hourly pay range for this position is $31.97-$47.65. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
